The Kenya National Spatial Data Infrastructure (KNSDI) is a national initiative to provide better access for all Kenyans to essential information about our national resources. It aims to ensure that users of this information will be able to acquire consistent datasets to meet their requirements, even though the data is collected and maintained by different stakeholders.
The implementation of the KNSDI requires a solid infrastructure based on policy and administrative arrangements, people and technology, and a means by which spatial data is made accessible to the users. This infrastructure can be compared to services infrastructures, such as road, rail and electricity networks.
The concept of the KNSDI is to establish a clearing house for geo-information, to ensure that the distributed network of databases managed by individual stakeholders is accessible.
Vision
To provide a national infrastructure for access and use of geospatial information in decision making at local, regional and national levels for sustainable development.

-
To eliminate wastage of resources and duplication in the production of geospatial information
-
To develop acceptable standards for data, production and distribution
-
To develop a solution for easy discovery and access of geospatial data
-
